Philadelphia: Under the Skyscrapers

Stephen Tyson is a graduate student at Arcadia University, pursuing his Ph.D. We recognized Stephen as a valuable source to our project because of his ability to talk about his experience in hip hop and the urban arts as both a performer and a student of peace and conflict resolution. In this video, Stephen Tyson is addressing a seminar class, previously taken by two of our group members, that focuses on recent non-violent revolutions, as well as historical changes brought about by strategic nonviolence and peace as a culture. During the class Tyson’s documentary  Hip-Hop: A Culture of Peace was shown, and he offered to answer questions from both the students and our group for our documentary.
